This Years Event

Stompin' on the Quomps is an al fresco (out door) Smooth Jazz Festival with bands performing on the Edwardian bandstand in the picturesque surroundings of Christchurch Quay. It's one of Christchurch's largest and most loved events, appealing to young children and nonagenarians alike.

Playing at Stompin' for the first time are Mundo Pequeno, a jazz fusion of Portuguese Brazilian World music.

Featuring the Jools Holland singer Louise Clare Marshall are Not Just Sax led by the talented Sarah Bolter. With a full line-up this year, Stompin' stalwarts Lemon Grove, Christchurch's equivalent of Harry Connick Jnr., are back by popular demand.

We are pleased to welcome back for a third year are The Baddest Blues Band, featuring local blues legend Zoe Schwarz.

Headlining the event are the award-winning Taverners Big Band, playing an eclectic mix of Big Band music including the ever popular Glenn Miller charts such as In the Mood, American Patrol and Pennsylvania 65,000, charts guaranteed to have everyone dancing.

Stompin' 2011 is set for a fabulous line-up and we very much look forward to you joining us.
